3 Car Races Left for 2012. Come See The New Race Car #15

A racing update from our Team 1-800-DRY-ME-OUT lead race car driver Rob Faiella:

The King of Wraps, 1-800-Dry-Me-Out #15 is all fixed up and ready to go for this Saturday night. There are 3 races left in the points season. We are currently 2nd in the standings. Hoping to improve on that! Michael Hart is in front of us and Jim Brown is behind us, and I am guessing they aren’t going to make it easy. Looking forward to a good battle!

Post-Race Wrap Up: Veteran Car Racer Bob Faiella Sr.

Here is a post-race follow up from lead Team 1-800-DRY-ME-OUT driver Rob Faiella on the results from the Saturday, November 17, 2012 race.  The race was to be a historic race where Rob Faiella Jr. would race against his father and veteran car racer, Bob Faiella Sr.

Unfortunately the Sr. vs Jr. battle didn’t happen. The #13 broke a valve in practice so we only had car #15 to send into battle. With this being a 50-lap $500 race, there were a lot of cars that showed up. 27 to be exact. 24 cars took time trials and Bob Faiella Sr. timed in in 6th position.

To make it more interesting the race promoter decided to invert the top 14 cars and this relegated Bob back to a 10th place starting spot.

Bob took the green on the outside of row #5 knowing that he would be hung out there until he could get to the inside. A couple cars decided to go 3-wide in the first turn and the #15 would find it self sitting backwards in the first turn of the first lap.

Team 1-800-DRY-ME-OUT Introduces New Race Car Driver: Rachel Senokossoff

A racing update from Team 1-800-DRY-ME-OUT’s driver Rob Faiella:

Things have been slow with the 1-800-Dry-Me-Out race team due to some mechanical issues. We have struggled to keep the car running in the last few races and decided to tear the engine apart.
In the true spirit of how 1-800-Dry-Me-Out works with the community, members from other teams came out to help and spend some long hours with us. This past Friday we were up until 4 AM and then back at it before noon on race day.

We replaced a broken valve, worn valve seal and a few sensors and the car is now running great. Due to prior commitments, Steve White and Rob Faiella could not be at the track. But being the 13th, we had to get car 13 on the track so Rachel Senekossoff volunteered to take the wheel. Rachel had only run one race prior in a car she shares with her fiance Bill Hamilton.

Rachel came up to get the car and we got it loaded on the trailer 2 hours before the race was schedule to start and she had a 1 hour drive to the track. As she was getting ready to go, we noticed oil all over the ground where the car was. We took the car off the trailer and back into the garage and crew chief Alex Olivera quickly diagnosed the issued as leaking Cam Seals.

We quickly removed the coil, plug wires and valve cover and then the cam shaft end cap. We reset the seals and then put it back together and fired it up. No leaks!!

We got the car loaded again and sent Rachel on her way with only 1.5 hrs now.

Race Car Driver Rob Faiella Brings In First Win

Team 1-800-DRY-ME-OUT race car driver Rob Faiella took his 2nd trip behind the wheel of the #13 1-800-DRY-ME-OUT King Of Wraps mini-stock this past Saturday night.  The night started off great as Rob started on the pole of the 3rd heat race and led wire to wire grabbing the team’s first victory.

The win would have Rob starting 3rd in the 25 car field for the 20 lap feature.  On lap 1 Rob grabbed 2nd and was holding his own against the leader. He was passed for 2nd by the #9 car and relegated back to 3rd.The lead car and the 2nd place car had both been previously disqualified for failing post-race inspection in prior races.  Rob knew that the 9 would be DQ’d again because the wheels were the same ones from the previous race and the #81 was most likely going to be DQ’d again also.  Rob didn’t push it because he knew he was the “actual” leader at this point.
